Department of Kinesiology & Community Health Manssour
H. Moeinzadeh, Ph.D., associate professor and associate head of
Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering, joined the faculty
in 1982 after receiving his Ph.D. degree in engineering mechanics
from The Ohio State University. His B.S. and M.S. degrees are in
mechanical engineering.
His primary research interests lie in the application of mechanics
to human biological systems focusing on the biomechanics of musculoskeletal
system and human locomotion. These efforts include: the analysis of
mechanical behavior of major human articulating joints, development
of mathematical models simulating joint dynamic behavior, sports biomechanics
and rehabilitation engineering.
His industrial experience includes production and process engineer
with General Motors Corp.; plant engineer, Quaker State Refining Corp.;
and project engineer, Bernard Pipe Line Co.
Moeinzadeh is the recipient of the 1984 Society of Automotive Engineers'
Ralph R. Teetor National Educational Award for teaching excellence and
2003 Outstanding Engineering Advisor Award. He is two times recipient
of The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Award and is a member
of the United States National Committee on Biomechanics (USNCB). He
is a board member and past Chairman of the Biomedical Engineering Division
of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). Moeinzadeh
is a member of the American Academy of Mechanics, American Society of
Biomechanics (ASB), International Society of Biomechanics (ISB), American
Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), and Sigma Xi, Phi Kappa Phi,
Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Tau honor societies.
